When the women came to the tomb early that Sunday morning, they expected to find the body of Jesus. Instead, they found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty.
They found no body—because Jesus was no longer there.
This moment changes everything.
The tomb was known. The stone was sealed. Guards stood watch. Yet when the women arrived, they found the stone already moved, and Jesus was gone.
God did not roll the stone away to let Jesus out—He rolled it away so we could see that He is risen.
If Jesus had not risen, someone could have produced His body and stopped the message immediately. But no one could find it—because He is alive.
The empty tomb is not just evidence—it is an invitation to believe.
The angels reminded the women of something they had forgotten: Jesus had already told them this would happen.
He said He would be crucified.
He said He would rise again.
And He did exactly what He said.
This matters deeply for us today.
Because if Jesus kept His promise about the resurrection, then we can trust every promise He has made—about forgiveness, about eternal life, and about the hope we have in Him.
Each of us must wrestle with this truth. If Jesus made these claims, then one of three things must be true:
The resurrection points clearly to the answer: Jesus is Lord.
The resurrection was not hidden—it was seen.
The women witnessed the empty tomb.
The disciples saw the evidence.
Jesus appeared to His followers again and again.
He appeared to Thomas, who struggled with doubt. And when Thomas saw Him, he declared, “My Lord and my God.”
Jesus also appeared to hundreds of others. Over 500 people saw Him alive after the resurrection.
These were not isolated events. These were real encounters that confirmed a powerful truth:
Jesus Christ is alive.
This is why we can trust the resurrection—not as a myth, but as a historical reality.
The resurrection is not just something to understand—it is something to experience.
Because Jesus lives:
